Matter of celebrating Mother Language Day on 21/02/2021

 

According to the above subject and reference, Mother Language Day has been declared by UNESCO on 21 2 2021. As per the letter of the Government of India involved, it is planned to celebrate Mother Language Day all over the country in all the offices and schools under your jurisdiction. Please provide necessary instructions from the class to carry out the activities as mentioned in the instructions given in the letter of the Government of India attached in the part and also request to organize the celebration of Mother Language Day. In addition, as mentioned in the letter of Government of India Given the link given in the letter from the Government of India, you will give necessary instructions from your level to participate in the celebration of Mother Language Day.

As you are aware, 21st February, has been declared as I nterna tional Mother Language day by the UNESCO in 1999. Every year, all the higher educational institutions/schools across the country are advised to organize various activities like Elocution, Debating, Singing, Essay Writing and Painting competitions, Music and Dramatic performances, Exhibitions etc. However,this year, the Matribhasha Diwas is being celebrated jointly by the Ministries of Education and Culture as Webinar from 21st to 23rd February, 2021 and the inaugural function will be held on 21st February, 2021 through virtual mode.

 

Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal "Nishank", Hon'ble Education Minister feels that participation of students from all the Higher Educational institutions, JNU, AI CTE, Kendriya Vidyalayas, CBSE, students under NIOS in the Matribhasha Diwas celebrations make the students to understand the importance of the Mother language. As such, he desires that this information should be disseminated to all the students studying in the State Universities, Private Universities and schools in every state.

 

The inaugural function of the Matribhasha  Diwa s will be conducet d on 21.02.2021 from 11 .00  AM to 12.00 Noon in which Shri Venkaiah Naidu, Hon'ble Vice President of India will be the Chief Guest of the occasion and Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal "Nishank", Hon'ble Education Minister, Shri Prahlad Singh Patel, Hon'ble Minister of tate Culture and Tourism (I/C) and Shri Sanjay Dhot re, Minister of State for Education shall be Guest of Honor.

I shall therefore, take this opportunity to invite you to participate in the inaugural function of the Matribhasha Diwas and also to advice all the schools/institutions under your administrative control to direct the students in those schools etc to participate in the Webinar. The link to the Webinar given is web cast.gov.in / mhrd, education.gov.in and education.gov.in/ hi. This may kindly be intimated to all the Universities and Schools in the State with a request to pass it on to the students and ensure their participation in the inaugural function.
